Josh Empson is a senior advisor to Providence and the CEO of Tempo Music. He is currently a director of European Media Partnership (Real Madrid) and of Tempo Music, which he led the formation of in 2019. He was previously a managing director at Providence and a director of Learfield Sports, MLS Media and the NFL/PEP investment fund.
Prior to joining Providence in 2013, Josh was a partner and co-founder at NantCapital, an investment firm. Previously, he was a managing director at Forstmann Little & Co. where he focused on media investing. He began his career in operating and strategy positions at United Online and NBC, and was the third employee of the pioneering online video startup, The Feedroom.
Josh received an AB from Princeton University. He serves as a trustee of New York Public Radio and of the classical music service QXR.
