Jonathan M. Nelson
Executive Chairman
Jonathan Nelson is Providence's founder and now serves as the firm's executive chairman. Mr. Nelson serves on the board of directors of The Chernin Group. He has also served as a director of numerous other Providence portfolio companies, including Bresnan Communications, Eircom plc, Hulu, Language Line, MetroNet (now AT&T Canada), MLS Media, Univision, VoiceStream Wireless (now T-Mobile US), Warner Music Group, Western Wireless Corporation (now AT&T Corp.) and Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network (YES).
Mr. Nelson has been a private equity investor for 38 years. He founded Providence in 1989. Previously, he was a managing director of Narragansett Capital, Inc., which he joined in 1983. At Narragansett Capital, Mr. Nelson specialized in private equity investments in media. Mr. Nelson received a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School in 1983 and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 1977. He is a trustee of Brown University, The Rockefeller University and Institute for Advanced Study. He is a member of the Board of Dean's Advisors at Harvard Business School.

Before joining Qwest in August 2002, Mr. Allen was president of Allen Enterprises, a private equity investment and management company he founded. Previously, he served as president of Chicago-based Ameritech Corp., where he began his career in 1974 and held a variety of executive appointments including president and CEO of Wisconsin Bell and president and CEO of Illinois Bell. Before starting at Ameritech, Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army where he reached the rank of captain.

Greg Brown is an operating partner at Providence and former President and CEO of Learfield IMG College. He is currently a director of 365 Retail Markets. Mr. Brown joined Learfield in 1984, where he was first responsible for selling sponsorships for the Iowa State Cyclone Radio Network. He held numerous leadership positions throughout his years at the company. In 2009, Mr. Brown was named President and CEO, overseeing a growing sports marketing firm anchored by its multimedia rights management and sponsorship initiatives. During his 11 years as CEO, he led the company through its growth and transformation into one of the leading collegiate sports marketing firms in the nation, ultimately overseeing the merger completion between Learfield and IMG College in December 2018. He then directed Learfield IMG College into its next growth phase, focused on creating dynamic solutions for its college partners. Learfield IMG College now represents more than 1,000 collegiate athletic programs (including nearly 200 multimedia rights relationships), conference and arenas across the nation and provides a wide array of services to collegiate athletic departments, performing arts centers and event organizers. He retired as President and CEO in April 2020.
Over the years, Mr. Brown has developed a significant network of contacts throughout the sports, media, entertainment and technology ecosystem. He currently serves as co-chair of the Learfield IMG College Board of Directors and also as an adviser to the company and its executive team. He also serves on the National Football Foundation Board of Directors, is a national judge for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and remains deeply involved with numerous other organizations, events, and platforms that are vital to the overall development of intercollegiate athletics and sports-related charities. Mr. Parsons has held various positions in state and federal government, serving as counsel to Nelson Rockefeller and as a senior White House aide under President Gerald Ford.
Mr. Parsons is currently a director of Estée Lauder Companies and Lazard Freres, and is chairman of the Apollo Theatre Foundation. Most recently, Mr. Parsons served as the interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team. Mr. Parsons received a Juris Doctor from Union University's Albany Law School and his undergraduate education from the University of Hawaii.
