Bloomberg Highlights Why Providence Believes Investments in Live Events are Becoming More Attractive in the Age of AI

As AI continues to disrupt industries and reshape markets, some sectors may be more resilient than others.

In a recent conversation with Bloomberg's Swetha Gopinath, our Head of Europe Karim Tabet shared why he believes live experiences, education and connectivity are not only resilient to AI disruption – but increasingly attractive because of it.

Live events, whether music or sports or even trade shows, are pretty immune from what’s happening in the AI cycle. As a matter of fact, live events are much more investable today than a decade ago when the debate was about the value of digital content. Back then there were questions about what it meant for people to go to a theater, stadium or a concert, because they could get everything online, on Netflix or Spotify. What we’ve seen is that live events are premium experiences that are growing in appeal. While investors are shying away from SaaS because they’re worried about AI, they see live events as more of a safe haven from an investment point of view."
